The next day came that horror of horrors, initiation. The hoys' initiation came that morning. The new hoys ran to the Pxrhoretum Pond. where they expected to he thrown in. and who were we tu disillusion them. Run' ning down to the lake. Dick Donchian scared them again, hut again they were not thrown in. Rolling in the mud, soniersaulting across the hockey field, and other equally ridiculous stunts formed the rest of their initiation. For some reason they didnit seem to like wearing red rihhons in their hair at lunch any more than the girls liked wearing theirs in at least three pigtails with no hohhy pins that eyef ning at the Old Darn. The old girls, lead hy chief torturer Nancy Fisher. took pleasure in making the initiates walk on tomatoes fdefinitely squishyj, eat worms fspaghetti to somej and other unknown leftovers. Skits were put on hy each class and the teachers. The teachers' Peter Rabbit was definitely the hest, prohgilwly lmggglugc if Wag not their first rehearsal.
