With this increased membership, avirtual Hi-Y army took the field by s elling Westsidebeanies, apples, candy ba r s , s e at cushions, and many other things. Along with this frenzied selling, the Hi- Y pep section and cheerleaders added much to the pep rallies and games. During Thanksgiving vacation fifteen enthusiastic H i - Y - ers went to the annual Hi-Y youth and government meeting at Lincoln. Westside's bill was passed with only one des centing vote andwas one of the six bills passed. Bill Encell was elected Boy Governor. 50 DO' G-ur Soon after the start of the new year, the Hi-Y was split into two chapters-- a junior chapter for freshmen and sophomores, anda senior chapter for juniors and seniors. This arrange- ment, which began this year is ex- pected to fulfill its potential next years with increased efficiency and more interest to Hi-Y members. Oth e r projects undertaken this year included the selling of car wash tickets, Mrs. Leland's Golden Butter Bits, taking orphans from St. James Orphanage to the movies, and a dance at the Tower party room.
