For this group pupils are selected alphabetically without reference to any classification, so that each unit may be representative of the entire school. I: The teacher is not, as a rule, related to the pupil through subject matter, but is :I in the relationship of sponsor and friend. These sponsors encourage pupils to come to I: them with their joys and successes as well as their troubles. They endeavor to keep :- in close touch with the home life of this group and to act as an adviser and guide I nt school. I: Each home room elects a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, usher, :Qi and council representative for the term. Various committees are appointed from time to time and the work is so organized that each pupil is given an opportunity and encouraged to act according to his abilities and preferences. Through the home room the school carries on its projects. Each group aspires to be first in all undertakings which promote the welfare of the school. Many of these activities are continuous throughout the year, as, for example, student patrol, Tuesday banking, scholarship and attendance contestsg others vary from month to month or week to week. The work is practical and inspirational. This year the home room activities have been Inore than interesting and profitable. At the beginning of the first term, after the first days of getting acquainted with one another and the rules of the school in the little green hand books, study schedules for home work were discussed and planned. Then came various campaigns for student athletics and publications. Such topics as thrift, courtesy, character building, develop- ment of personality, patriotism, respect for law and order, civic duties and privileges, charity, appreciation of art and nature, planning for future occupations have received careful consideration and enthusiastic support by the student body. Throughout all activities there is a fine spirit of co-operation, helpfulness, and loyalty. The spirit of the home room is truly the spirit of the school. -1-727.91-shv-:-1---2-f1EG'Pi-s:-:sg-5455-21'-7-wifi- 2 -T'-ai.:-rT'i'n ' ' 1-32 W , ----Li2'P'?:-'-' Page Fort V-,four
