Q Q I .LG-Jx01L9 excmvjcsxii The class of 20 must have felt particularly reluctant to break the old ties that bound them to Westport when they saw what a promising Jolly good class of fresh- men they were leaving behmd freshmen who were destined to form the class of 23 The class of 21 styled ltself ' the greatest class that ever set foot in Westport, ' 22 called itself mightiest of classes It 1S with due respect that we, the class of 23 acknowledge the merit of our predecessors from whose admirable teaching we have lealned the art of class-making I I The pre-eminence of the class of 1923 is not due to the leadersh1p of one or two glfted members, but IS the result of the talents and devoted efforts of many leaders Who have helped to make the name of Westport famous In all those things that help to make the spirit of Westport courageous, 1nv1nc1ble and triumphant members of the class of 23 havelbeen conspicuous Among the grad- who have helped to bring the Amhert cup to Westport for two successlve years the glrls of the winning debate team and our singers who won a cup in recognition of their silver voices The names of many seniors also adorn the honor roll Now we b1d farewell to the Gold and Blue we b1d the classes of the years to come to carry on the sp1r1t of Westport, that lt may represent all that is noble and I S1I'1CGI'6 57 IZDEST' H Page 15
