As sophomores we found out a little bit more about you but as typical sophomatic people felt that no matter what we did it was wrong therefore we were sent to you for pun- ishment. As we progressed into our junior year of High School we established the fact that your job is to sand down the rough spots and keep harmony among the students. Now as seniors we finally realized that you are a very important person. You have taught us right from wrong and have helped us through the hardest years of growing up. At times we might have thought that you were being too hard or too strict on us because after all we were only kids. We made our debut in Westport High as freshmen in 1978. Mr. Manuel T. Cabral Jr. was appointed as our class advisor to guide us through the next four years. Elected as class officers were Robert Cabral as president, Lori Ann Quinlan as vice president, Suzanne Rioux as secretary, Randi Yokel (Medeiros) as treasurer, and David Brown as project co-ordinator. Through cake sales, candy drives, and our first annual Meat Pie Chicken Pie Supper, we were able to make our freshmen year a success. We rounded out the year with a trip to Rocky Point Amusement Park. We entered our sophomore year with Robert Moreau as president, Lori Ann Quinlan as vice president, Suzanne Rioux as secretary, Randi Yokel (Medeiros) as treasurer, and David Brown as project co-ordinator. The projects held in our freshmen year were repeated, with the addition of amandatory candy sale, and again proved successful. We also had the excitement of ordering our class rings, which will be treasured for years to come. Our junior year began a little shaky. The class officers were Brenda Murphy as president, Lori Ann Quinlan as vice president, Dawn Blais as secretary, Randi Yokel (Medeiros) as treasurer, and David Brown as project co-ordinator. For personal rea- sons, Brenda resigned as president, and Lori Ann took over. David Brown assumed the role of vice president. Activities rolled along smoothly, as we repeated our successful projects and added to them a movie program. Our Junior Prom was held at the Coach- men, the theme was ‘‘Everybody Has a Dream’’, and the band was Mixed Company. That year saw the formation of the yearbook staff, and work on the Yearbook of '82 began. ____ And finally — our Senior Year!!! Leading the class were Robert Moreau, president, Lori Ann Quinlan, vice president, Suzanne Rioux, secretary, Dawn Blais, treasurer, and David Brown, project co-ordinator. Our yearbook, our main concern, was in full swing. ‘We began preparations for our Senior Prom, Class Day, and most of all — Graduation!! The sun is now starting to rise on a new beginning . . . the future. These years have ____been very special to us — growing, thinking, sharing, learning, loving, caring, laughing, helping, striving. . . but most of all, making memories and becoming friends.
