CLANS SS) JENS HOURS As father time’s hourglass runs low, another school year is slowly coming to an end. Though our years at Westport High will soon be gone, the memories of the graduating class of 1979 will linger on. Before all our time runs out, we shall help you recall the past and present, the most important times of our lives. In our first year at Westport High School we started as typical freshmen, electing Julie Berube as president, Lisette Hitt as vice-president, Lisa Gallant as secretary, and LouAnn Gracia as treasurer. Miss Nancy L. DeFaria was appointed as our class advisor, and with her help in organizing class projects, our first year was a big success. We rounded off this year with a trip to New York City. We entered our sophomore year with an array of changes to our staff of class officers. Leading the way were Jean Adams as president, Colleen Morse as vice-president, Kelly Robertson as secretary, and Brenda Trecida as treasurer. Along with the guidance of Miss DeFaria we designed our class ring as a keepsake of our high school years. Beginning our junior year as upper classmen, we elected Jean Adams as president, Sue Lemar as vice- president, Mary Anne Bolduc as secretary, and Karen Fernandes as treasurer. We were very excited about our Junior Prom, but due to the Blizzard of ’78 it was postponed and we held our Valentine Prom in March. Towards the end of this year we organized our yearbook staff. We finished it with great anticipation of having a prosperous senior year. Our senior year began with Sue Lemar as president, Liz Hill as vice-president, Julianne Feliz as secretary, and Karen Fernandes as treasurer. Our yearbook was in full swing by the beginning of the year, and our projects were very successful. This last year we have come together as friends, and joined to help our class succeed. Although time will separate us, the memories of each other will live through the years. We are now leaving Westport High School and the hour glass is turning to a new beginning — the future. We must answer its call and face the world of challenge. 28
