Were it 10t for his approval and assistance in many of our en- leayors, we would never have achieved the goals for which we have strived during our four years here at West- sort High School. The Class of 1970 To the Graduating Class of 1970: It is my pleasure and privilege to extend congratula- tions and good wishes to the graduating class of 1970. I hope that as a result of the four years spent at West- port High School, you will be better prepared to meet and resolve the pre vailing problems of a somewhat disturbed, confused and uncertain world. The famous Admiral Bull Halsey once characterized man’s greatness: “There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.” As graduates of Westport High School, you will have ¢ mantles opportunities to render services and make critical decisions. May you be able to recognize your per- sonal obligations and to discharge them e ffe ctive ly so that esteem is reflected on you, your parents, friends, commu- nity and school.
