I find that I like America very much because of the kindness of my American family and friends. I would like to thank everyone who made my trip here possible and I only wish it could last forever. 4] 42 43 44 Class History In December of 1964, as Freshmen we began our high school days. The following o fficers were chosen: President, Barry Peckham; Vice-President, Linda Carreiro; Secretary, Doris Sherman; and Treasurer, Sharon Raposa. As Freshmen, we were treated to one wonderful day of initiation which ended with the “Welcome Freshman Dance.” We held our dance, “Swingin’ Safari”, in March of that year. Our freshman year ended with our class outing which was held at Lincoln Woods. Our sophomore year, which was our busiest and most successful year, began with the election of our class officers. They were: President, Deborah DeCosta; Vice- President, Linda Carreiro; Secretary, Doris Sherman; and Treasurer, Ann Wordell. Mrs. Mickelson was appointed as our class advisor. We held our dance, “Autumn Magic”, in November, sold candy in January, and in April held a cake sale at Lee’s Supermarket. To climaxe our sophomore year, we held our class outing at Lincoln Woods. In the fall of 1966, as Juniors we looked forward to another busy year. The follow- ing officers were elected; President, Deborah DeCosta; Vice-President, Linda Car- reiro; Secretary, Doris Sherman; and Treasurer, Ann Wordell. We received our class rings in November. During this year, we had many activities such as selling tooth brushes and combs, pens, and Christmas napkins. We held our Christmas Dance, “Mistletoe and Holly”, in December. In February we began planning for our Junior Prom, “Some Enchanted Evening”, which took place on April 19. We elected our yearbook staff in May of that year and also held our “Farewell Senior Dance.” In September of 1967, we chose Patricia Donnelly, President, Barry Peckham, Vice-President, Doris Sherman, Secretary, and Virginia Fish, Treasurer to help and guide us through our last and most important year. The highlight of the season ‘was the brilliant 1-0 triumph over the power-packed Crimson of New Bedford High. The offensive charge was led throughout the season by All Bi-State forward, Senior Normand Couture. The wizardry of goalie Russ Picard and a solid half back line held opponents to only eight goals in the ten games played.
