We the Class of 1967, are indebted to our two advisors, Mrs. Alice Desrosiers and Mr. Richard Rego, for the full cooperation and consideration they have given us. This is why we dedicate our 1967 edition of the ““Brownie”. to them. SOR Wid alias: ete ULL bygeenmrew een sce © 9 SEMI G Revenge en 15 SUpenlalives. yam re tn. We of the yearbook staff have tried to save. those special moments that we shall always remember, and our only hope now is that you enjoy the yearbook—then all our work will have been worthwhile. Editor-in-Chief MOTTO “To be, not to seem.” CLASS COLORS Pink and white CLASS POEM Four short years have come and gone, Time has come when we must part; But memories shall forever linger For you hold a place in each one’s heart. On this our graduation night, Joys and sorrow with us dwell. We shed a tear for our Alma Mater, As friends and teachers we bid farewell. We now leave you, Westport High School, A goal we must attain. As citizens, we’ll show the patient training That you have taught us again and again. For you have opened up the portal To the path of life you have led, With the guidance of God we now go forward To the unknown paths that lie ahead. Though the journey through life may be stormy And the waves may billow and roll, Your beacon will go on before us To guide us straight to our goal. And in the years that follow As we climb the levels of life, For you, our dear Alma Mater, We'll attain these goals for which we have strived. LINDA STAFFORD CLASS FLOWER Long stem pink rose CLASS SONG (To the tune of “What Now My Love’’) What now my friends, Now that it’s over? We hold the keys To our destiny. The paths we take After graduation, We must walk down Separately. What future lies For us all? Will we use What we have learned? To meet success Or opposition We must learn To stand alone. Although we part In great sadness, Only our memories Will bring us joy. In March of this year, we held our first dance, “March Magic”. Our freshman year ended with our class outing which was held at Lincoln Woods. Soon afterwards in the fall of 1964, we elected as class officers Gerald Bussiere, president, Kenneth Silvia vice-president, Madeline Barboza, secretary, and Janet Meader, treasurer. Mrs. Derosiers and Mr. Rego were chosen to be our class ad- visors. The projects held during this year were a dance, “Echoes from England”, and a candy sale. The year was brought to a close when we held our class outing at Lincoln Woods. In September of 1965, we started our junior year—a very busy and important year. Elected as class officers were Claudette Matton, president, Kenneth Silvia, vice-president, Madeline Barboza, secretary, and Janet Meader, treasurer. In October we were given our class rings, a day never to be forgotten. Later we held a dance, “Snowflake Fantasy” and had a candy sale. In the spring we held our Junior Prom at White’s Restaurant and we also sponsored along with the seniors a Fashion show from Stonehaven Ltd. Later in the spring we elected our yearbook staff and held a Farewell Senior Dance. In the fall of 1966 we as seniors began our last and most exciting year at West- port High. We chose Wendy Lash, president, Joseph Wisneiski, vice-president, Madeline Barboza secretary, and Janet Meader, treasurer. During the fall and winter months we held a Welcome Freshman Dance and a second dance, “Over, Under, Sideways, Down”. We also sold sweatshirts and had a candy sale along with a food sale. Senior pictures were taken by Vantines and the Yearbook Staff was well in their work completing our yearbook. These moments through our high school years will never be forgotten. This is one of the main reasons that I wanted to leave my home country, Den- mark, and for a year try to live in this country and learn what its customs and people really are like. With knowl- edge comes love, and I am getting to know this country. Thank-you words say so little, but using them, I may be able to express my thankfulness for your making my year in America so wonderful for me by giving me knowl- edge. An AFS Summer Program student does not (as many people believe) have just a lovely, pre-arranged holiday overseas. It is an experience which calls for understanding, congeniality, patience, and learning; but, it is an uwn- forgettable experience! During my stay in England I gained a great deal of knowledge about the country, a greater understanding of people themselves, and made many new and wonderful friends. It was truly a summer of excitement, learnin fun,—one I shall always cherish. Thank you all very much for enabling me to take part in this marvelous AFS program. g, and Ect 6c llaeg tells Cec leay Pa c “Ee DP Q or 7) 5! = = Q = = WH Most Popular Done Most For Class Most Likely To Succeed oe oy Best Looking Best Dressed 49 50 Most Athletic Class Musicians po, 51 52 | Class Clowns Most Studious Gift Song FACULTY Mr. Fogg: Aufwiedersehen Mr. Wood: You gotta S-M-I-L-E Mr. Martineau: I’m looking through you Mr. Bibeau: Let me tell you ’bout the birds and the bees Mr. Braga: I hear a symphony Miss Cahoon: I love you more than an ice cold— cookie? ! ? That is why it is important to make the most of it and make it your best year. Remember first that your main reason for being in school is to learn and to develop into capable, responsible young men and women. School is not all work, however, participate in the extra-curricular activities which make for a well-rounded student and a more fun-filled year. Also, remember that as seniors you are looked upon as examples to be followed by underclassmen. Try to make that example a good one. Support your class not only in monetary aid but also in actual participa- tion in class projects to insure their success. Your help will always be welcomed and appreciated. May I wish the class of 1968 the best of luck in all their efforts. Lhireciye A Kaede President of Senior Class 56 Undereclassmen 58 SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS J. Meader, W. Lash, J.
