The defendants explained that they were carried away. MISSING LINK FOUND Prof. Charlie Borden, SPCA, NATO, AZEP, startled the scientific world today when he flashed the news of his discovery from a remote scientific station in Northeast Patagonia. The professor stumbled across his discovery while exploring prehistoric caves in search of fossils. MEAD HALL RAIDED Bob Paquette, owner of the Heorot Mead Hall was today raided by policewoman, Joan Reed, on charges of harboring that infamous criminal Grendel. Pat The girls had a good season this year. They Luella had plenty of fight and played a fast game. Our league was close this year and the games we lost were heartbreakers. The starting eight Class Acstory As we began our freshman year at Westport High School, we looked forward to four years with anticipation and high hopes to the things which are and ought to be expected of high school students. Like any intelligent organization, we gave proper consideration to the election of officers worthy of the responsibilities and jurisdictions of their office. The officers appointed were the following: Leighton Tripp = = SSS s«é2Prressidlernt Cecile Gendreau _. Vice President Margaret Sheilds = = =———s———s—SsSséSSecretarry Carolyn yomithip ee ae Peasurer Paul Amaral and Almerinda Rodriques were elected for the Student Council. The period of initiation was a week of fun, irrespective of the many complaints of the plaintiffs. Our first dance was “The Freshman Rainbow.” It was exciting and successful. Following this event, we held our annual class outing at Miles Standish Reservation. The following year witnessed our entry into the Sophomore class with forty-eight survivors. This time, we were more deliberate and care- ful in our class procedures. We had matured and were ready to accept the responsibility and challenge of academic and extracurricular ac- tivities. We deduced from our number that our class officers, after careful consideration, would be the following: Robert Borden 82.2 2 eee President Gilbert: Picard) eee Vice President Carolyn; smith ee ee Secretary Patricia Viera’. eee. Treasurer Again, we had the courage of our conviction to appoint Cecile Gen- dreau and Pau! Amaral to the Student Council. We had two successful cake sales at the Department Store of Mc- Whirrs in Fall River. The “Sweethearts Frolic” in February was well attended. It was to be noted that Lorraine Isidore was chosen as the “Queen of Hearts’’ and Patricia Viera and Winnie Hassen were “Ladies in Waiting.” Our class outing was once again held at the Miles Standish Reserva- tion. The Junior year was significant by reason of the fact that it appointed for the governance of the class the following: Cecilia Oliver Mi Pe tte £5 _ President Lorraine Isidore = —_ Vice President Caroly Go roniitigee eee ee _ Secretary SY Via nant e teeta ae Treasurer We elected Gilbert Picard and Patricia Viera to the Student Council. In addition, we elected Mr. Arthur Jolin as our class advisor. During the year, we had many fine times preparing for our three dances. Our Junior Prom! The finale! We will never forget the decora- tions and the excitement. The theme was unforgettable. “Starlight Sere- nade.” Cecile Gendreau was chosen as our Queen 6f the Prom. The last project of our Junior year was the election of the yearbook staff. The entire class prepared for a Senior year of hard work. Our Senior year opened with the election of class officers. The fol- lowing classmates were chosen: Paul Amaral ___ oa Seee President Lorraine Isidore —===—=—S—Ss—S_s«WVice President Carolyn Smith: 1 a Secretary Sylvia Chantre eee) Treasurer Elected to the Student Council were Pat Viera and Edward Whitty. Carolyn Smith and Leighton Tripp were elected to the Student Council at Large. Due to the absence of Mr. Jolin, Mr. Addis H. Daly became our class advisor. During the course of the year we had two successful dances and two cake sales. Now, we were all looking forward to Class Day and Gradua- tion. Whatever paths each member of the class of ‘57 pursues after grad- uation, we are certain that we will never forget the four happy and eventful years that we spent at Westport High School.
