28 THE -B R-OWWN IE Janet Webb’s ambition is to become an all-star softball play- er, although she also plays bas- ketball. She was on the Honor Roll four years and a class officer for two years. Her talent for coi- ored mimeographing work was evidenced by the fine job she did on the Junior play programs. The boy in the class who blushes easily is Alvin White. Al- vin is a ladies’ man and was voted class Romeo. “Smut” has taken part in many activities, participating in baseball for three years and serving as a member of the Student Council. Jean Woodland finds her greatest pleasure in sports. She played basketball, was a cheei- leader, and participated in beth the Junior and Senior plays. Jean excelled in being homerooii manager of a magazine cam- paign. As secretary of the Senior class, Jean Zembo proved tha% she will find success in her chosen field. She was an enthusi- astic cheerleader during her So- phomore and Junior years. Jean is working at Keith’s Ice Cream Parlor. We wish you great suc- cess, Jean. Mal predicts that hair styles will stay in the limelight next year, with the Flat-Top coming into its own. Y., June 20, 1949—- A magnificent reception was held at the Waldorf Astoria following the mar- riage of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Souza . in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. After an ex- tensive tour of Europe, the couple will reside on Long Island. Mrs. Souza, nee EFenriette Martel, was associated with the Metropolitan Opera Company be- fore her marriage. STUDENT STUDYING ABROAD WESTPORT, MASS., March 9, 1954 -——Miss Barbara Lees, having graduated trom Mass. State, is now attending the University of Paris. While in Paris, Miss Lees became engaged to Professor Pierre Beau Ami, who teaches lan- guages at the university.
