DISTINGUISHED SENIORS OF ’88 1 2 3 1 — I'm proud to say that I am a graduate of West over Senior High. Unfortunately I ran into some misfortune at the beginning of the year, but luckily a close friend was there to help me out. Friendship, that's the key to life, success, and happiness. This is what the class of 88 possesses. I want to deeply thank all of my friends who were there for me. Good luck Seniors and go for the Gold ! T.V. 2 — I would like to express my gratitude to all the teachers who have taught me well and have set a solid foundation for my developing education. I thank them for the challenge and the efforts which have helped me to excel academically. I sincerely wish the best of luck to those students who are striving for success. Hard work and determination will bring self-satisfaction. I would like to say Good Luck and Farewell to the few. but special, friends that I have at Westover Sr. High. Monica Cutno 3 — The Senior Year is a piece in the puzzle of life. During my Senior year. I have gathered a better sense of responsibility and respect for humanity. Through constructive criticism from the faculty and my friends. I believe I have become a better person and that I will be prepared for the future that lies ahead. Good Luck — Maurice Wilson

DISTINGUISHED SENIORS OF ’88 1 2 3 4 5 1 — Life is to be cherished in good times and bad. Hard work and sacrifices should never be pushed aside. Never give up on your dreams and your diligence will be the soul of good luck. Candace Howell 2 — Be careful, you who watch me. the smile on my face is deceiving. When I look in the mirror and make faces, as if for fun. the face that looks the most like myself does not have a smile. That face is hidden under th§ shadow cast by the brim on my hat. and only the tears reflect the sun as they fall on my beard ... My eternal thanks I give to the class of 1988. Patrick R. Mackey 3 — We. as seniors, leave Westover Sr. High and step into a world of opportunity and possibilities. My advice to the class of '88 and to all the upcoming graduating classes is to set your goals high and always reach for them. No one is ever going to give you anything in this world. If you want it. go for it! So I say to the class of '88. we are the future of this world and the future is up to us. Erica F. Moore 4 — I believe that it is important for everyone to have something to strive for in life. It gives a sense of being and offers you the chance to achieve something important. It doesn't matter how important or unimportant it may seem as long as you have a goal you can try to achieve. If you decide that you are going to do it then do it. It doesn't matter whether you succeed, just how much you try. Efrem R. Leach 5 — The day of our graduation will be the first day of the rest of our lives because there will be no more high school and we will have to face the real world. The last seventeen or eighteen years of your life have been spent to equip you for the real world. We must be ready and able to deal with whatever happens. So to the class of 1988. in whatever you do. have fun and live your life to the fullest. Eric W. Moore Seniors 71

DISTINGUISHED SENIORS OF ’88 1 — Westover is proof that first impressions are often misleading despite sharing a scary exterior resemblance to San Quentin, it has turned out to be a most enjoyable experience for the six months or so that I have been here. I came here expecting to be alone and unknown until I made parole (I mean graduated, of course) but the people turned out to be far friendlier to new students than I ever expected. Even though I will probably end up becoming a professional student the rest of my life. I want to give something back to this insane world that’s been so nice to me ... Anyway. I want to say. thanks to everyone here who helped me feel a little more welcome and. good luck to the class of '89. Rodney Marable 2 — As our senior year slowly fades away, we look back on the many memories that made this year special. Cherish the memories of the past for they help you build for the future and live each day so that you will neither be afraid of tomorrow nor ashamed of yesterday. Congratulations Class of '88 and those that follow! Katherine Renee Addison 3 — I would like to thank all of these special people who helped me along the way. especially my mom. who I love and cherish dearly. I would also like to encourage you the graduating seniors to develop and exhibit self-confidence no matter what the circumstances. Furthermore. I would like to leave you with the following lines of my future success . . . I used to dream militant dreams of taking over America. I used to dream radical dreams of correcting analysis. I even used to think I'd be the one to stop the riot and negotiate the peace. Then I awoke and decided that if I dreamed natural dreams of being a natural black woman, doing what a black woman does when she is natural. I would have my success! Deana Hopkins 4 — Think about what remains to be learned. Skip Gill 5 — Take command of your life now. choose the path that will lead you to the greatest fulfillment of your expectations. Westover is the launching pad for your future attributes. I feel that nothing is unattainable if you want it badly enough. Excel at everything you do. whether it be Goalkeeping, studying, or whatever you like to do. Do not settle for second best, for if you do. your heart will not forgive you. SECOND TO NONE! Eric Alexander Meyerson ished Seniors
