On January 28, sophomores finally had someone they could call underclassmen. They ranged in height from four feet to no taller than four feet six inches and they came in loads. They were the students from Morganton Road Elementary School. Because of heating problems at their school, they were hosted by Westover Sr. High from 11:00 until 2:20. Schedules were delayed and hysteria was created in the halls to accommodate the little bundles of joy. All of the kids eyes sparked interest and they made us remember when we were that age. We will always remember these two times. The students of Morganton Rd Elementary march- Faces were lit up as students prepared to eat lunch at the senior high, mg their way through Westover one by one. 1988. in its first month, gave the students of Westover the impression that this year would be a year to remember. The commotion started on January 7. The morning began as normal, but then at 6:30. to the praise of many students, snow came falling down. Students immediately turned on their TV’s and radios for any news of school cancellations. To the delight of many students, classes were cancelled for a total of eight school days because of the seven inches of snow. This vacation became a late Christmas present for many Wolverines.
