THE I958 CLASS PRCPHECY One day 1n the summer of 1963 Karen Gitzlaff vtalked into a beauty salon owned by Judy Hilbert Judy and her assistant Mrs Earl Johnson the former Joan Kerkhoff were busy at work As Karen sat down she noticed Mrs Wayne Meyer the former Sharon Torrey Sitting in the chair beside her Sharon was surprised to see Karen and to find out she was a private secretary for Jay Good who is a big executive at General Electric Karen told Sharon that Sandy Wilson and Gail Miller were also secretaries for Jay and that Mary Kolnik was his accountant Joan told them that Judy Johnson had been in recently on one of her stop overs as an air line stewardess Judy had said that her next flight would be with Dave Poisl whois now a pxlot for a commercial airline Judy also said that on one of her flights she had seen Lita Maleski who was flying to Paris to study art On Dave s last stop over 1n South America he met Ron Andersen an archaeologist who just discovered the lost city of the Incas Ronnie told Dave that in his travels he had met Sharon Davis and John lworton who are now missionaries in New Guinea Judy Hilbert asked if any of them were going to the dance Saturday night at the Eagle s Club She said that Don Walker s Dixieland Band was playing for the dance Richard Sabin is now the drummer for Donnie s band Bob Koehn plays trumpet and Marlene Gentz and Gene Krueger play sax She added that Marlene also owns her own music store Sharon told them that Linda Krahn now Mrs Dave Cowan just had a new house built Their house was designed by Richard LeMay and the landscaping was done by the company owned by John Carmichael Judy asked if any of them had heard about Diana Muzillo s roller rink which was named Muzillo s Rolling Wheels She also mentioned that Judy Halsey and Barb Knickerbocker work for Diana as skating instructors Sharon told them that her husband Wayne was president of the farm bureau. She said that she had attended the last meeting with him and was surprised to see so many of her former classmates there Some of those she mentioned were Tom Busse Bill Reynolds Larry Enlow farm The others own profitable dairy farms Karen informed us that Ray Ellis IS now at a farm camp training to play baseball with the Braves Dick Weber had just quit baseball to join the Air Force along with Larry Ginder and Ray Smith who all have promising careers at Bong Air Base Karen told them that among their other classmates who were in sports were Ron Nelson who 1S now first string quarter back for the University of Wisconsin lt was not surprising to hear that Ray Lubkeman and Rich Skora were both top rate basketball players Judy related that Cara Steinbach also owns a beauty parlor in a neighboring city and that Cara has Joan Wedman working as her assistant Judy said that Cara must be doing pretty well because she just bought a new Lincoln and is having it customized at Jim Cameron s Body Shop Vernon Leipzig is now head automotive mechanic for Jim Jim had just bought a Thund rb1rd from Ralph Rau who owns the Ford Garage While on the subject of cars Judy mentioned that Butch Krohn and Ted Dooper both own their own gas stations and that Bob Gilliam works for Butch as head mechanic Joan then said that she had just seen Donna Bobula who now runs her own orphanage Donna told Joan1e that Sheila Herda now owns her own dress shop and designing studio Sheila designs many of the creations worn by the models from Barb Radon s Modeling School Barb s models pose for the magazines for which Melinda Miller does the fashion illustrating Donna also told Joanie that Margie Lichthardt now Mrs Dennis Desotell is sending her dizzy l1ttle daughter to a nursery school operated by Phyllis Milner Phyllis was telling Margie that Judy Lebangood IS a first grade teacher in the same school Margie is now working as secretary for Ruth McCormack who owns her own accounting office Margie also said that Ruth had just left to race in the women s motorcycle finals at Daytona Beach Florida Margie had told Donna that Sandy Klemens and Joyce Gooch still have their big dreams Wandy wants to be head football coach at Notre Dame and Joyce wants to be head basketball coach at Miami University Audrey Mudgett still plans on being the first woman satelliter to go into space. Dick Winfield, Elroy Hoegsted, Richard Schlagel, and Wilfred Meier, who now runs a large truck
