DiX. WE NEED A HANDOUT At the beginning of the school year there were 154 freshmen, making this class the largest in our schoo1's history. At our first meeting Mr, Becker was elected as class advisor and Mr. Alby was chosen assistant advisor. The class officers are: Gary Dix, President, Jeannine Madden, Vice-President: Jeanne Anderson, Secretaryg Ioan Shaw, Treasurerg Louise Cook, Reporter, Rose Wilson, Student Council Representativeg and Leilani Ginder, Alternate Representative, When Homecoming time came Shirley Powell was chosen as our candidate for queen. The initiation dance, much dreaded by the freshmen, was very successful. The boys looked very sweet in skirts and nylons and the girls looked stunning in blue jeans, curlers, and no make- up. A few activities were sponsored by the freshmen. One of them was a Sadie Hawkins Sock-Hop. Also, a magazine drive was held with a certain per cent of the profits going to start our treasury. We would like to thank Mr, Becker and Mr. Alby for making our first year at Central a very enjoyable and happy one. 50 qw: aw a i l I vp.- ,,mn.-5..- VR 'nf r was I wid!
