DE T UNCIL STANDING Mr Ferraro and Ken Walton AT DESK Don Andersen FIRST ROW Barb Clark Nancy Wagner Dtanne Wagner Joan Fox SECOND ROW Beth Wtlson Elame Fowler Lenore Madden Bob La Meer THIRD ROW Ber me Zethen Warren Reck Dave Cowan Denms Srmth A student counctl IS formed for the benefxt of the student to brmg h1m to a closer understandmg of the rtmnmg of a school and to represent the student body for the purpose of votcmg optmons and makmg dec1s1ons The ftrst semester Student Counctl got off to a good start last fall w1th the elxtlon of offtcers at the ftrst meetmg They were Ken Walton presldent Don Andersen v1ce presldent and Joan Fox secretary Mr Ferraro was reelected as adv1sor of the student counctl The Student Councll was gtven complete charge m the preparatlon and plannmg of the flrst Homecommg at Central wh1ch was held October 16 We dec1ded that any gxrl 1n school could become a cand1date for queen by gettmg a pet1t1on of flfty names The queen would then be chosen from these cand1dates by a vote of the entlre student body we also dec1ded to g1ve the cheerleaders along w1th the Pep Club the respons1b1hty of the pep rally wh1ch was held the mght before the game The C Club took charge of the dance wh1ch was held the mght of thegame Through the Jomt efforts of these two groups the Student Counctl was credited wlth hav1ng sponsored a very successful Homecomlng We voted to purchase two mxmature Chr1stmas trees for the Chrxstmas Party wh1ch was held December 23 1n the All Purpose Room. Many problems wh1ch arose dur1ng the ftrst semester were settled Wtth th1s favorable terrnmatton of atdeavors we ended our half year of enjoyment as members of the Student Counc11
