Waiting and planning their re- venge for two years, the seniors put the sophs through a tough week. Zucchini necklaces with frequent bites from them adorned each sophomore the first day. Slavery became the fashion the second day. Sophomores bowed, ran errands and worshiped sen- iors. In the afternoon a talent show was held. On the final day, each senior planned a special costume for a sophomore to wear. To show off the creations, a parade through town was held. To atone for any miscues, a Kan- garoo Court was held on the foot- ball field. Tasty food was served. Through these adventures of mis- adventures, the sophomores did survive. THE MANE EVENT STYLING SALON 63 Eleven students from the Spanish II and III classes were very fortunate to spend their spring vacation in Mexi- co. They were able to see various cities. The students who went are Tricia Bannister, Ron Clark, Tim East- man, Marilyn Irving, Pam Jensen, Kim McCullough, Mike McLean, Robin Pine, Elsie Reitz, Mike Robin- son, and Cindy Teel. Accompanying them was Mr. Huntsman. PROM The class of '83 sponsored the 1982 prom that was held on Saturday May 1, in the Pendleton Elks Lodge. The theme of the prom was Sweet Dreams and the colors were pastels. The band The Imposters , from Cor- vallis, provided the music and were a big hit with those attending. Teresa Kesling was named as the 1982 Prom Queen. 64 WESTON MERCANTILE 65 J.C. They had a lot of money making projects such as concession stand during the basketball season, cake raffles and dances. Decoration for graduation was a bit responsibility but the biggest project of the year was the Jr-Sr prom held at the Pendleton Elks Club. The tradition of Helix coming to the prom was broken. The juniors always made their presence fell at the pep rallies, as they consistently were the loudest class during class compe- tition. Class President Cori Zhul 79 How goes it?
