AND MRS. ELVIN TAYLOR On March 21, the W-M Band and the High- land lads lassies went on a weekend concert tour of Washington and Oregon high schools. Their program included a history of bagpipes and Scottish songs and dances. They held money raising projects to help raise money for the music department. 33 WM Club is comprised of members who have earned an athletic letter. Providing the manpower in the concession stand is the major money making project. WM sponsors the homecoming activities. Members direct the selection of the queen and court, organize the noise parade, and gather wood for the bonfire. Finally, they plan the Homecoming Dance. During each sport season, WM honors all senior parents of participating members. Rally is included in this activity. Pushing a large broom at the basketball games, by a Wm Club member, is a familiar sight at half time and between games. WM Club members provide a crowd control service during the basketball season, too. The club provides the athletic letters to those lettering in each sport. Their loses were splits with opponents, Mac Hi, Enterprise, Heppner and Sher- man. 46 The varsity girls’ basketball team suffered a discouraging and disappointing season. They won eleven and lost twelve. Kelly Burke was named to the second team C.B.C. all star roster. C.B.C. CHAMPIONS Tiger Scots enjoyed a very successful season with a 19-7 win-loss record. As champions of the C.B.C., they finished the conference with an 11-1 record. At the district tourney, won by WM, Kent Kilby was voted most valuable player. Kent and Laine McMillan were named to the tourney’s first team all stars. C.B.C. named Kent Kilby to the district all star team. Fin- ishing fourth in the state tourney, Barry Warner received second team all state honors. They were involved in the noise parade during homecoming, raised money in concessions, participated in sports, decorated for graduation and the prom. The prom, A Night to Remem- ber,” was held April 23. Burgundy, silver and white stream- ers, draped over cables, lowered the ceiling. Wooden walls, constructed from old barn wood and arragned in an octago- nal shape near the center of the floor, made an intimate ball- room of the gym.
