Besides recording news at Weston- McEwen; members of the staff learned how to write the news, features, sports, and editorials. Of special interest this year were some articles on the editorial page concerning overaffection in the hallways. There was also a questionaire concerning what is Love. New Zoo Review Editor was David Schmidtgall (pictured below) and Assistant Editor was Paul Jordan, (lower left-corner). Exchange Editor Tina Montoya is pictured at top of page. 15 NATIONAL HONOR SOCITIT The Weston-MeEwen National Honor Society tries to create enthusiasm for scholarship, promote worthy leadership and encourage the development of character in Weston-McEwen students. National Honor Society members must maintain a 3.5 accumulative grade point average. Their eligibility for membership must also be considered by the faculty on their service, leadership and character in school related activities. IPespiaris Present: Mr. Morlock woke up dead. Actually he just had a terrible nightmare and thought that he was dead. During his traumatic dream, some terrible things happened. For example: His wife ran off with Dr. Brown, and his daughter married the son of a poor Italian meatcutter. Black, the friendly undertaker, and his assistant Mr. Gray, came to bid on his body. Finally even Lucifer, while rounding up lost souls, came to invite him to the theological place of eternal punishment. Most of all, Morlock realized what a jerk he was. Our overall record including District playoffs was 13 wins, 6 losses. I felt at the beginning of the season that these girls were going to District this year. It was a real pleasure working with this team and I'm sure you will be hearing about them in the future. Coach Snodgrass RAUT M I II S The Rally Squads of W-M did a fantastic job of supporting our teams this year. They were awarded the Rally Squad trophy at the District Tournament for their outstanding performance. The creativity shown by these squads was excellent. The J.V.'s gave a new look to the cheering squads of W-M by the addition of three boys. The boys, Terry Snider, Randy Rahn, and Seth Johnson, aided the girls in cheering for girls basketball games at the District Tournament. 44 IcirdiCliciis Sir ard Play Uic Ni H 4yay The Weston-McEwen High School Band is one of the most active classes in the high school.
