We had lost several excellant athletes, which I felt would be difficult to replace. But the kids went to work to prove me wrong. on The seniors really became leaders on and off the field. Instead of criticizing the underclassmen, they helped them with en- couragement. Becuase of this help , the younger players im- proved quickly and were soon helping us win ball games. I thought it was a very outstanding season. This was the best group of girls I have ever coached. We showed determination throughout the season. ESQ H Q. Ml, S a W' The success of the JV's this year can be attributed to several factors. First, was the fine coaching of Mr. Gustafson. As the season wore on, several players improved enough as to either start on the JV s or to come off the bench and do a, good job. Also, Mr. Howard's coaching improved our inside game and our outside shooting. I felt we ha.d depth that enabled us to use more than just five players. Last, I felt the team ran the of- fense as well a.s any team in the past. They worked the ba.ll well and took good shots. Offensive- ly, we scored 61. 8 a game and defensively 41. 4 a game.
