It’s not often that a coach comes through a high school with an impact on her students. Marie Butera is not only a fantastic coach, but a friend. She is an inspiration to all the girls she works with on her teams. We may have to work hard, but in the end the results are worth it. Who else could give us champion teams year after year? How many other coaches put their souls into their teams? Sail high with their victories, console and encourage them in defeat? In our hearts Marie Butera will always be the coach of the year. 1 A yearbook dedication is a very special honor, and its recipient should be equally as special. We, the Class of 1980, have proudly dedicated our yearbook to a very deserving person. When we entered the high school in 1975, we met someone who was also a newcomer. We grew and learned together. He has helped us in countless ways; if not through sound advice and instruction then with a warm smile and an attentive ear. As our class advisor, he gave us the support that was necessary to pull off many activities. Even while recuperating from a serious operation this year, he made the effort to attend all class activities. His work in the Skills Center also can not be over¬ looked. He enjoys his work and he takes it seriously. He respects his students as much as his students respect him, a rare quality these days. We, the Class of 1980, are very proud to dedicate our yearbook to a very special person, Mr. Peter Taberski. if if

RECOGNITION The day she took over, Iona Nickeson did not know what she had gotten into. Very few of us did, but along with the rest of us, she learned. She has helped us through the roughest of times with determination and dedication, even those times fifteen minutes before a deadline. She would not let us give up. The yearbook staff wishes to thank her for her time and effort in helping an impossible dream become a reality. We can sincerely say that we never would have made it. We will never be able to say thank you enough. 5
