ENGLISH ENGLISH STAFF Mr. Robert Walker, Mr. Robert Clawson, Mr. Charles Hatch, Mr. Paul Nichols. The aim of the English Department this year as m the past has been to make cul¬ tured pearls from grains of sand. This noble and often frustrated aim was accom¬ plished not only by classroom hysteria but also by the extracurricular clubs and activities within the department. Such activities as the Folio, which was our first non-profit organization, and the Smoke Signal, most noted for editorial prowess, stimulated the students’ interest and, it seemed, their apathy.
