E E . E I 2 f 5 e Z l E I ? A NEW BEGINNI As the new walls go up, so do new dreams. As a student or a member of the faculty, everyone has expectations as we move into our new school. Where we once saw a parking lot, we now see the walls and frame of our new high school rising before our eyes. Progress on the school appears to be on schedule. We have been as- 1 U , ?? Fewer student drop-outs and better facilities seem to be im- portant factors among the faculty at W.H.S. The students mainly want a school of which they can be proud. As the walls and our dreams climb their way to the top, so does our reputation. Although we are looking forward to at- tending our new school, we still show our Eagle Spirit while we wait. We don't have to be new to have class, but new beginnings are exciting. F' It - . n l rmzltaf-fm wemipzrv 1- W A f -wane A1 A ' V 'p'7 'f'

A SPECIAL FAREWELL We extend a farewell to Mrs. Mary Garrett who retired in 1986 after serving as guidance counsel- X or at WHS for 18 years. Her goal has always been to help people and that's why she became first a teacher and then a counselor. Mrs. Garrett felt that by being a counselor she could help students with problems and with their future education. A FAREWELL WITH CLASS Billy Caldwell is a senior at Westmore- land High School. He has gone to school here all his life. Now in his thirteenth year of school Billy hasn't missed a day since he started. He said the reason he did it was he didn't want to stay at home. In addition, he is striving to beat his brother Doug's record. Billy says his par- ents inspired him not to miss any school. There aren't very many students that ac- complish what Billy is trying. Billy deserves a classic farewell for his attempt to leave W.H.S. with a perfect record. f A 1 v 1 X X K 1 -f.: ,b -- N F2 , 'ff 9 ,151 , 'K : I . .
