FOOTBALL REVIEW After a disastrous beginning, the Bulldogs juggled ,535 SSW their line-up and found a winning combination to finish the season strong. An opening loss to Clinton and an embarrassing ,X 2-O league loss to a weak Canajoharie team caused a drop in Westmoreland's spirit. All hope was not 'fat y ...is lostg though plagued by injuries and penalties, the Bulldogs tied Oriskany with a dramatic touchdown w late in the final quarter, only to be trampled hy the undefeated league champion, Dolgeville, the follow- i ing week. B With a few line-up changes and a rejuvenated spirit, we returned to the road to defeat Schoharie 2 y and West Canada in quick succession. These victories were highlighted by sparkling defensive play and all round hard-nosed football. A last minute touchdown to upset Lowville cli- maxed our season and clinched a second place tie with them and Oriskany. lOTTOM: Becky Sweeting, Billie Cosentino, Linda Macior, Bunny Ioseritino. MIDDLE: Doreen Mills, Lynn Sweeting. TOP: Janice Vedor. BASKETBALL REVIEW The Bulldogs remained undefeated at home to finish second best ln the Intervalley League. Inconslstency on the road cost us the league champlonshlp as we lost heart breakers to Oris- kany, Poland, and Lowvllle by one pomt Aided by the experience of four seniors and a junior we displayed a well-balanced attack of red-hot outside shooting and strong rebounding to account for our success this year. Hampered by injuries early in the season, Westmoreland came back to highlight the year by defeating a stubborn Dolgeville five in triple overtime and soundly beating league champion Lowville to avenge an earlier loss and become the only team in the league to defeat the Red Raiders. West-' moreland's strength was shown by easily defeat- ing St. Mary's of Little Falls and Chittenango to win their 1964 Christmas Toumament. VARSITY SCORES 119643651 '15 ,l.V. Basketball D. Cotter R.
