The cadets lend assistance to those unable to flnd their own material. There are now four cadets working in the library: Allce Davies, Antoinette Dzwonkas, and Lucille Kaelin. SCOU TS The present enrollment of the Girl Scouts is twenty-seven. 'I'he troop is divided into two groups composed of the junior group, or new members and the senior group, or old members. The senlor group has passed its first aid tests and has earned its foods badge, while the junior group has passed tenderfoot tests and half of the second class tests. The girls are grateful for special- ized assistance with these tests from Miss Hogan and Miss Bell. Miss Withiam also assisted Miss Fry the last three months of the school year. Last fall Miss Fry and Miss Hogan chaperoned the senlor group on an overnight excursion at the Utica Day Camp. Soon after the whole troop put on a program at the November P.-T. A. meeting in which they demonstrated a typical scout afternoon. Nicknacks were made by all the girls for a bazaar held in the spring and the senior group wrote a play for the occasion. The purpose of this bazaar was to earn money for badly needed scout equipment. The Westmoreland Boy Scout Troop started ln 1937. Their leader was then James T. McFarland, Sr. Later the leader- ship was given to Mr. Edwin. Warner. In the summer, the club goes camping and hiking. On most of these trips, the boys fish.
