l PUBLIC SPE.-XKING, as taught in the junior High English classes, proves useful to Nancy lidelstein as she presents a hmnorous mono- logue in assembly. Whether the course is English or one in a foreign language, the primary emphasis is on communication. Communication skills, which involve reading, writing, speaking, and listening, are essen- tial ingredients to the development of a free society. Also, in an age of tension and fear highlighted by sputniks and guided missiles, man's best hope for breaking down the real and imaginary barriers that exist among nations is the ability to understand his fellow man.
