SGPHOMGRE CLASS Introducmg the sophomore class of 1953 Th1s the largest class rn sen1or h1gh ended the school year Iune of 1953 by electrng the present ofhcers for the followmg year They were presrdent Leonard Stept v1ce pres1dent Vln cent DeFrank secretary Erleen V1ckroy and treasurer lane Gallagher The home room presr dents and representatlves to councrl were Ron Marley Barry St Clarr and George Bezek The sophomore class was very well represented 1n sports The many names that were seen on the rosters 1ncluded V1ncent DeFrank Barry St Clalr Irm Hemphxll George Bezek Ron Marley Ron Koval Don Koval Ken Beatty lay Deml Herk Daley George Grrfflth Don Irwm and Don Huston The gxrls too held the1r own Those engagnng 1n 1ntramurals were Donna Hmcks Mar1on Wood MGTCIG Salem Elleen V1ckroy Iane Gallagher Mary Al1C9 Lawson Dulcxe Mulkey Wanda Ober and many others lane Gallagher represented the class on the cheerleadmg squad The class also dxd very well scholastrcally Names that were seen frequently on the honor roll were L1nda Watkxns Mar1on Wood Iane Gallagher Len Stept Sk1p P1ck1ng Barbara Bur kett Ioanne Casale Kathleen Cunnmgham Robert Glosser Ilm Hemph1ll Mary Ahce Lawson E1leen V1ckroy and Steve Wallmg Not only does the class have brawn and bra1ns but It also has talent Th1s was notrced ln the1r wonderful assembly on Ianuary 31 Mr Ackley was ably asslsted 1n chorus by Mar1on Wood and L1nda Watluns who took turns accompanymg the chorus Oscar Zolbe and Ieff Hahn were two helpful members of the stage crew Th1s years actrvrtres were brought to a close by the sophomore dance whxch was rn the sprmg The gu1d1ng hands of the sophomore class belonged to M1ss Allendorfer Mrs Wrneman Mrs Good Mr Holman and Mr Sosmskl The classs ab1l1ty to work well together and ac compllsh thmgs wrll be to the1r advantage nn the next two years We certamly wrsh them the be t of luck .
