ADMINISTRATION Westmont Upper Yoder H1gh School has at present an enrollment of over 600 students and the enrollment is mcreas ing yearly The adm1n1strat1on is headed by Mr W1llard E Ackley the supervising pr1nc1pal Although he has been kept ex tremely busy with his regular duties he has found tune to direct one of the most popular organizations in the senior hrgh school the chorus Mr Ackley has also earned the gratitude of many 1un1ors and seniors by his aid 1n helplng them to plan for their future The high school principal Mr Iohn S Peifer presides over the functions of the senior high school Mr Peifer not only engages in all the regular duties of principal of a high school but he also teaches solid geometry trigonornetry and algebra ll and III Mr Pelfer by h1s consc1ent1ousness sincerity and efficiency has seen that our school has main tamed its high scholastic standards The seniors are especial ly grateful for the information which he has made available about different colleges Mr Percy A Iames the 1un1or high school principal ably supervises the funct1ons of the 1un1or high school Although the yumor high school 15 a comparatively new department 1n the hrgh school building remarkable strrdes have been made ur der his leadershlp The lunior high school students are grat ful to Mr Iames for his helping them to adlust to the changes of a new system The fine academic record that has been established by our school reflects the smcerrty and the efflclency of our administration. Sill KDUL l3OfXlQD The responsibilities of successfully running Westmont and Upper Yoder schools rest in the hands of the school board, This joint board is a combination of five members from the Upper Yoder Township board and five members from the VVestmont board. The members are Mr. Edward A. Dittmar, presidentg Mr. F. Monroe Williamson, vice-presidentg Mr. Earl E. Miller, treasurerg Mr. William V. Price, Mr. Robert A. Hoad- leyg Mr. Parker R. Lawson, Mr. Luther E. Lehmang Mr. Russell A. lonesg Mr. Earl F. Brubaker, and Mr. Theodore M. Fairchild. Mi. Fairchild was appointed to replace Mr. H. E. Townsend, re- tired. He will serve until the next election which will be in November, 1953. Mr. Harry R. Leckey, secretary of the joint board, is a non-member. The board meets once a month with Mr. Willard Ackley, supervising principal, and Mr. Iohn Peifer, high school principal. During this year the school board in conjunction with the student council has begun plans to include in the schedule for next year a driver training course. It will depend upon parent reaction whether or not this will be a reality Another plan under discussion is that of allowing students from West mont into athletic activities free of charge The project to be completed this year is the extending of the fire alarm system to the old building The student body of Westmont Upper Yoder High School extends its appreciation to these men who give their untiring and generous efforts to the betterment of the school K N N X l I P N '.
