This year the sophomore class seemed to prove that girls make good politicians, for three of their four officers were females. Ron Morgan was elected presidentg Ian- ice Raymond, vice-president: Sue Williamson, secretaryg and Shirley Robb, treasurer. As home room representatives in Student Council the sophomores chose Michael Wal- zer Gordon Pogal and Don Eckel The following were elected as presidents of the sophomore home rooms Don Eckel Tom Kahl and Michael Walzer The sophomores are held up scholas ically by the frequent appearance on the honor roll of the names Claryne Bowman Gretchen Erdmann Iack Lawson Ronald Morgan Gordon Pogal Iames Quest Anne Ruff Sue Williamson M1chaelWalzer Sharon Bloom Ioann Miller and Shirley Robb One can readily see that the sophomores were very athletically minded they had many representing them 1n variou sports In football there were Bob Smeal Dan Blaschak Steve Carney Ted Ewald Bob Hahn lack Lawson Dwaine Berkebile Peter Ogle Tom Iohns Marlin Stockwell Art Reese and Ted Bachlk Next was basketball Probably the most outstanding and well known sophomore was Bob Sharkey who played versity basketball For the Iay vees the sophomores had such deepndable boys at Bob Smeal Tom Iohns Ron Morgan Art Reese and Ted Ewald While these boys brought much deserved glory to their classes Tom Kahl Iim Bhmmel and Don Eckel served as capable managers Furthermore there are many sophomore girl who were equally enthusiastic about sports as was proven by intramurals Although the sophomores did not have a very successful season they have many good players 1.ch as Shirley Robb Sue Wil liamson Pat Shahade Grace Hahn Gretchen Erdmann Ioanne Salem and Dorothy Williams Many of the Photo Club members were from the sophomore class lim Quest held the office of secretary of the Photo Club The musically minded ophomores also Joined the band and chorus and added to the harmony of W U Y Claryne Bowman was accompanist for the chorus The sophomores held a party in Octo FICERS L ft , 1 R ,a V ber The party was characterized by the best of games and most delicious of refreshment V M q Iamce Raymond was selected to lead the ' ws band down the field as a high stepping mayorette Grace Hahn represented the sophomores as their cheerleader Sue Williamson acted as substitute cheerleader during Barbara Franke s illness A dance and assembly were held by the sophomores to round out their activities for the yeal 1 - 1 . . , , . 1 1 1 1 - 1 1 1 1 1 1 .
