Rain or shine they were always on hand to urge the team onward to victory. The cheerleaders have become so much a part of the color at football games that this year the school board provided bus transportation for them to the away from home games. This was greatly appreciated because it enabled the entire squad to be present at all of the games. Before the last game of the football sea-on which was with Ferndale a pep rally and bonfire were held in hopes of an approaching victory. Before many of the other more important game' short pep meetings were held in assembly. At these meetings the students suggested the cheers which were to be used. A number of new cheers Were added to the repertoire this year. We re the Team was the new one which put the squad in second place at the annual cheerleading contest held at Iohns- town High School. Sue Williamson acted as substitute cheerleader at this contest. We ve Got the Style Hip Hip They re a Wonder and Yea Coach were some of the other new cheers. Seven junior high cheerleaders were selected to cheer at junior high games this year. Their never-ending pep and school spirit did much to boost the morale of the junior high team. At the end of the basketball season the girls were guests of the Westmont Athletic Club at a banquet for the Westmont athletes. inuuq luis-vnu X U 1 1 5 C I , '31 U , 1, 1- 1 L ,I 1. ,, H 1 H H 1, I I I 1 t LEFT TO RIGHT-Grace Hahn, Lucille johns.
