I e 5 a Stem Ma v o FOURTH ROW th b W q lx I The hlgh and mighty 1un1ors although st1ll one year short of berng rul1ng seniors got down to bus1nes right away After the nom 1nat1ons were made and the ballots counted 1t was found that D1ck Havyer was entrusted w1th the highest execut1ve pos1t1on Assisting h1m were Dick Slagle as v1ce presrdent Betty Stembnng as secretary and Bob Ste1nbr1ng as treasurer Home room presldents were chos en also and those found to be lead1ng their respective rooms were Sam D1 Francesco Ed d1e Mlller and Luther Robb Sam D1 Francesco D1ck Iones and Luther Robb were chosen as representatives 1n student council and were expected to do their share of the lawmakrng Much needed help was grven to the 1untors by Mr Ott Mrs Raab Miss Greer Mrs Davis and Mr Mann1on who acted as the1r ad v1sors As before the class cont1nued to keep a hrgh athletlc and scholastic record Those names seen most frequently on the honor roll were Gerry Delaney Ph1l1p Loprestr Phylhs Metzler Barbara Yost Bob Stembrmg Lois Costlow and V1rg1n1a L Mrller The prestlge Wh1Ch Westmont rece1ved 1n both football and basketball would not have been poss1ble w1thout the a1d of the verst1le a hletes of the 1un1or class Outstandlng on the gr1d1ron were Eddie Mlller D1ck Hoffman D1ck Havyer, Tom Cush Brooke Walker I1m Beam Ed Menser, and many others In basket ball too the 1un1ors were not lax Ed Miller D1ck Iones Dick Hoffman Tom Cush hm Kahl Melvm Kle1nstub and Ilm Berkeb1le were promment in the hardwood sport The 1un1ors of the weaker sex were very act1ve 1n the l1ne of sports Barbara Yost Ahce Naugle Debby Reese Pat Hammer and Marr lyn Lehman could usually be found in the gym at noon partrcrparmg in girls 1ntramurals The cheerleaders were given more vrgor by the presence of Barbara Anne Franke and Debby Reese The task un1que to the 1un1or class pub lrcatron of the Yodler was capably handled by edltor Barbara Yost This years Yodler staff worked d1l1gently and successfully to meet their deadl1nes Much muslcal aptltude was shown by the Juniors for many partlclpants of both the chorus and band belong to the1r ranks Dur1ng Hallowe en a most novel dance was held entitled The Teepee Town Tumble Dec orat1ons throughout the gym were arranged rn co ord1nat1on wrth 1ts title and were admired by all who attended Hlgh pressure advertise ment uslng the Ind1an theme contrxbuted to the success of the dance A hrghly entertaining assembly was pre sented to the student body by the 1un1ors Sev eral humorous Sk1lS were written, d1rected, and put on by the members of the Class of 50 The program was h1ghl1ghted by D1ck Rodriguezs 1m1tat1on of Al Iolson - I a l l ' ' - Left to th- on Snvd r.
