. The resumption of school activities in August found the juniors ready cmd eager to start the new year. They initiated the term by electing David Cohoe, presidentg David Coulson, vice- presidentg Iean Rogers, secretary, and Bill Ewald, treasurer. Nick Dunckel, Dick Hornick, and Regis Stinely were selected to represent the class in Student Council. After the smoke of these hard-fought election battles had cleared away, the class enthusiastically set about the task of sponsoring its Halloween dance. The affair was entitled The Spirit Spree , and was held on October twenty-sixth. This dance was a smashing success, and every- one present enjoyed the timely and appropri- ate decorations, refreshments at the Spook Bar , and music as supplied by Al Camut IIIJMI E PH ETIEALLY YU H5 and his seven-piece orchestra. Two weeks later the well-attended annual class party was held, featuring volleyball games, moving pic tures, entertainment by class talent and the ever-present refreshments. During the year the juniors proved more than ever their ample capabilities, both scholasti cally and athletically. The Honor Roll consis tently listed the names of many juniors. Those which appeared most frequently were Doris Coleman, Paul McGill, Regis Stinely, and David Coulson. In school athletics also, the juniors were well represented. David Coulson Hubert Strange, Sheldon Hunter, Frank Bon nono, Dick Hornick, Bill Gregory, Edward Sat tel, Roland Cicconi, Albert Henze, and Louis Pourron were members of the football squads 111:-1 1,fv.x 1.--' -1 119- -,g,-. 1,.- 1., 11.9.1-, lt -.r 1.14. 11 .,,, Hr.-V-w 11,11 .-'-:gm lt-'w kuf -.-. 1 : 19.1-. luv- li -. David Coulson supported our cagey quintet as a guard on the varsity basketball team, while Iohn Strank, Sheldon Hunter, and Dick Hornick added to the scores of the Iunior Varsi- ty. Patty Lou Wright and Iean Rogers helped to boost the student body's morale by their pep and sparkle as cheerleaders. In the field of intra-murals, both boys' and girls' teams illus- trated once again the fine spirit and good sportsmanship which have been characteristic of the class. They made up a large percentage of the personell of the band, orchestra, Photography Club, Girl Reserves, Hi-Y, W-Club, girls' chorus, and mixed chorus. Carol and her staff of classmates endeavored to offer their school-mates an attractive and well written publication. Many of the juniors also took part in assembly programs of all sorts. Whether it was a dramatic, musical, or humorous assem- bly the cast almost always included juniors. On February l the junior English class pre- sented two excellent scenes from The Mer- chant of Venice . Three junior boys, Bennett Braude, David Cohoe, and Regis Stinely, made up the stage and lighting crew that always supplied the correct effects for our programs. Since the interest in dramatics ran very high. the prospects for an all-star cast for next year's Senior Play are excellent. I X ltr-'. Z I. -.g II.-H. I.--, III-'I r K I-,.- L :qi ll- -.
