It . -qv--www-sv vt-vw ' I Buildings must be constructed on secure foundations, they must be erected with a principle in mind, and they must possess the qualities of beauty and proportion-even so must lives be built. There are many requisites for build- ing lives, but the most important is the influence of people. Our lives will follow your blueprints, Miss Pharrg and so we have chosen to dedicate our annual, the Napfoniana '53, to you. They go to the forest for palm or pine, the stuff for the humbler homesg The mountain gives up its valued gifts for the stately spires and domes, But whether they work with marble or sod, The builder is hand in hand with God. 6

And yet, just as we grow older in years and find we must build new character, we find also that as our school grows in size we must build new class- rooms. It is with warm pride that we have watched the framework go up, but it is not without sorrowg for we know that these are buildings which are no part of our own memories-but they hold a very real place in our dreams. May the future bless these buildings so that they may represent the same quali- ties our old buildings have because of the people who shall pass through their doors.
