,gms Industrial Arts Most of the work today is done in the factories and shops. The course in Industrial Arts teaches the students to work together and how to operate the machines. Under the careful supervision of Mr. Johnson and Mr. Cederloff, the students leam the basic machine shop practices, Included in these practices are milling, machine work, drilling, planing, shaping, and using the lathes. The students learn good safety practices when they use the machines, tools and precision instruments. In Shop, the boys make projects from wood, metal, and plasticsg and they work on electrical and home mechanics jobs. -3'7-

A 1. Home Economics Mrs. Murphy teaches the Home Economics classes. In Home Ec we learn sewing and cooking. Aprons, pin- cushions, and breakfast planning are the projects for the seventh grade. In eighth grade, we make skirts and plan luncheons, while we in the ninth grade may choose the garments we wish to make and we also learn how to pre- pare dinners. -36-

V Ma Phgsical Education During the past year, Mrs. Ul and Mr. Anderson have directed a physical education program centering upon our need of building strong bodies. In Gym classes, we have participated in team games such as basketball and volleyball and we have increased our abilities in tumbling, rope-climbing, wrestling, boxing, and other such activities. Our efforts were climaxed and displayed with the performance of the Gym Show on Thursday, April 19, in our own gymnasium, -38-
