The seventh grade classes studied grammar, writing, and literatureg the eighth grade classes enjoyed vocabu1ary,1iterature, and grammar: and the ninth grade found debating, grammar, literature, and drama interesting, Mrs. Paulson teaches one semester of read- ing to the seventh and eighth graders. The stu- dents receive a wider vocabulary, better compre- hension in reading, and an ability to read with greater speed.

In the History classes, we learn about our country and the world from ancient to present times. The Geography classes give us a better understanding of the many different ways of life in our country and throughout the world. We who study Civics learn about the types of government and their organization, citizenship, elections, and Pennsylvania history. The Teachers of Social Studies are Miss Helmick, Mrs. Butler, Mr. Henning, Mr. McCoy, Mr, Petruso, and Mr. Carlotti. These teachers strive to give us a better understanding of the world in which we live. -32-
