Y Senior ovemment ay Senior Government Day is sponsored annually by the local Kiwanis Club. During this day students elected from the senior class take over the govern- ment of our city. Each student is given a tour and explanation of his office by the city official and the group is taken on a tour of the city plants. During the afternoon a mock city council is held. Problems facing the city are then brought up, discussed, and voted on by the city council. City officials are also expected to give reports on their office. The day was a great success. Students learned a great deal about city government as well as specific offices concerned with the city. NIayOI' . . . . Richard Borchers Souncilmen . Ken Van Cleave Souncilmen . . . 166 Pioneer, Go Home! is the kind of play which is usually referred to as a hillbilly farce. The characters are simple, backwoods people. They are seemingly stupid but somehow they manage to have things their way every time: Holly Smith and the gangsters are probably the most normal people in the play fdepending, of course, upon your own criteria for normalcyj. The Kwimpers fight both the Guv'ment and the gangestersy for the right to continue their way of life. As you all know they won and the way they went about it was a riot. unior Class Play Y r I
