STudenTs swore ThaT classes had become more difficulf in The wake of more rigorous graduafion requir- emenTs. Blow iT off and A fine liberal arTs insTiTuTion remained popular phrases. The Westminster tradition of fine cross country Teams was upheld again this year. However, an injury to senior Peter Jude, and the young composure of both teams prevented full develop- ment of their potential. According to Coach Ault, senior Barth Winkler presented the picture of dedication which he hoped his harriers would mature into. Both men's and women's teams fared well in competition, each sweeping to first place honors in the Southwest Baptist Invitational, Individually, two of the women's team members, Katy Murphy and Sarah Maginnis, placed among the top ten at the District Meet, and Barth Winkler gained entrance to the NAIA National Meet by placing second at District 105

Furfhermore, The 441-'IA overall record included a conference won-loss counT of 7-5, producing a Third place finish in The Ozark CollegiaTe Conference. Following The season junior forward Roger Idel was seIecTed To The presTigious Academic All-American Team in honor of his aThIeTic qleading scorer and rebounder for The Teamj as well as his scholasTic achievemenTs.
