D I I lBHesiminsinr's first familg The true basis for Westminster's outstanding progress and activity during the past five years has been Dr. Robert L. D. Davidson, President of the college. As the guiding light of Westminster, Dr. David- son leads a varied and hectic life. His office, always open to students, is busy making plans for the future of Westminster, while at the same time solidifying the college's past. Often the question What does a college presi- dent do? is asked. At Westminster the answer is more than obvious. The excellence of Dr. Davidson's performance is the reason that he is second only to the dedication in this book. The principles and ideals which the editors and staff followed in the preparation of your yearbook, the ideals of democracy, fair play, and impartial ob- iective presentation of student life, are those which the leader of this institution has always championed. The picture above shows Dr. Davidson seated in- formally with his family in Washington West House, a moment all too rare in his crowded schedule.
