Originally a one-building campus with 20 students, today the college spans over 300 acres with 24 buildings and an enrollment surpassing 1500. 6 7 Homecoming 1977 Amidst a break in the weather, Zeta Tau Alpha ' s Marty Banks was crowned queen during halftime festivities of the 1977 Homecoming Mainstreet U.S.A. With the theme San Francisco, the Zeta ' s captured the float competition while in dormitory decorating Jeffers Hall took first place honors with the Hawaii creation. In cross country action, Titan harriers ran short in their meet with Grove City on a rain slicked, mud covered course, however . . . 8 9 10 . . . Coach Fusco ' s football team rose to the occa- sion by defeating the Wolverines and capturing their twenty-fifth consecutive Homecoming victory before loyal fans who braved the day ' s damp and windy conditions. The Titans went on to compete for the NAIA Division II Championship and re- turned the national title to Westminster for the first time since 1970. Continuing their winning ways, the Titan basketball and swimming teams ended another successful season of sports action. Coach Qalbreath ' s squad, with the addi- tion of several new faces, posted an impressive 15-6 record but fell short of receiving a bid for the district title competition. The swimmers concluded on a positive note by placing third in the Penn-Ohio ' s while in regular season they recorded a 9-2 mark under the direction of Coach Nicholson. 13 Old man winter over extended his welcome this past year burying the college in a winter world of ice, snow, and sub-zero weather. The extreme coldness caused a national energy crisis and brought January Term to a close two days early. 15 16 17 19 20 And The Band Played on A Cry Of Players I 22 I Last Of The Red Hot Lovers Faculty And Administration Academics being the main reason why we came here, the faculty and administration play a large part in our college careers. While we may only come in contact with twenty of the one-hundred odd professors on campus, it is their guidance that helped put us where we are today. The administration keeps the cogs of the college machine running smoothly and are on hand to offer advise, when asked. We all made money by having an endless number of donut, hoagie, pretzel, and hotdog sales. Then in January came the closed (or were they open?) fraternity parties. Preparations were made for formal rush and the smokers, and cut and black ball sessions were held. Then came pledging and everyone went into the lake. Basketball, both varsity and junior varsity, had successful seasons. The varsity team just missed the District 18 Post-season Playoffs. Wrestling was dropped due to lack of interest. Coach Nicolson ' s swim team lost only two meets, going on to place third in the Penn-Ohio Championships. The baseball and golf teams again had successful seasons while the tennis team improved in their season. Sometimes we thought we would never make it. But we did. Four years ago we arrived here as innocent, wide-eyed freshmen ready to begin a new life away from home. Once again we are leaving our home and ready to begin a new life. We anxiously awaited the results of graduate tests, job interviews, and acceptances into graduate, medical, and dental schools. When they finally arrived, we knew that we had really finished our college days. There were no more days to sleep till noon, no more Thursday nights to party till morning, and no more blowing off classes. We have finished those days but, I ' ve loved those days.
