However, its three occupants are never too busy to help some bewildered student run the rnirneograph or talk over schedule problems. Mr. Robert E. Galbreath, Ir., B. B. A., A. M., heads the department and helps make business English, bookkeeping, oitice management, and business arithmetic interesting. Mr. Harvey Mercer, B. B. A., M. E., is a Westminster graduate and a veteran. Mr. Mercer teaches typing techniques, shorthand skills, and salesmanship. Miss Arlene Risher, A. B., M. E., has the job of pulling 120 words a minute from short- hand writers, and teaching the intricacies of the office practice machines. ARLENE RISHER, HARVEY MERCER

The goal is getting closer and the frosh starting line seems miles away-but does it? Wasn't it just the other day that we started our race, a little green, meeting the new roommate, saying Howdy- doody as we tipped our dinks, taking placement tests, and feeling a little frightened as we wondered if we'd be able to keep pace with the upper class- men? We chose Ian Carlson as Ideal Freshman Girl, and Bob O'Melia prexied the class. That was the year of the mock convention with its campaign speeches and placards in Chapel, and the big snow that almost kept us in New Wilming- ton for Christmas vacation. Next September found us sauntering around campus with a more knowing air. We looked forward to tribunal. We still listened to the usual reminiscing, When the fellows were here, bought lohnny Mercer's Personality, and cheered frantically at the Akron game. This year we found our chapel seats in the junior balcony. We'Ve stopped writing letters c,fo Post Office, New York and welcomed our returning class- mates. Frat parties, formals, football and basketball games put up a stiff com- petition to studying. We elected loe DeMoise president, and had more than our share of winners in student government, on the basketball team, and in the Little Theater. ln April we paid tribute to the Seniors at the Iunior Prom. And later Betty Holt was crowned May Queen. The goal is getting nearer, and We'd like to slow down. We'd rather run the race at Westminster than watch from, the sidelines. uniofzs
