I l lOHN HENRY FATHY IONES BOB DlCKS Vice President Secretary President 1943 and the class of forty-seven, almost entirely female, came to campus. We saw room walls decorated with French scarves, Hawaiian skirts and leis and Back Home for Keeps picturesg saw lorgy towering his 6'8 V2 over oppon- nents on the basketball floor. We awoke to Gee, Mom, 1 Want To Go Home' rendered by Army voices at 6:30 a. m., listened to their classic joke about drop- ing a pencil in class and missing a semester, and spent Saturday Service center. We remember the interfrat dance held at the Kap room to spare. r 1 night at the house with 1944 and Chapel oral dance announcements still ended, Girls, bring your sang their favorite roommate. The Canaries, seventeen strong, vigorously theme song in the Grill, fish buying and the Chris Wagner handshake were the current vogues, and the Akron game left us Weak from shouting. 1945 and Aiken's garden bloomed again. We began our 399 courses and took our Work more seriously. We Worked on the f-lolcad, joined honaries, and published the Argo. Block W resumed their annual formal, the fraternities moved back into their houses, and the first spring football practice since the war, was scheduled. 1946 found us viewing the quadrangle for our final year. We saw the campus changed with veterans barracks, baby-buggies, and commuters' cars. We Worried about comps and thesis, and burned the midnight oil over student teaching.
