1- . .. Their Firsf Year! 1978 was the first year for a Junior High Student Council. They drew up their own constitution and they usually met on Tuesdays at lunch. Their goal was to support the Junior High activities, sports events, and to raise the student morale. This was not always easy, but they did a good job for their first year. They were one of the few groups to end up with a surplus even after field day. 1. Tony Kornrumph, Sloane Danziger, Leslie Dismuke, Student Council Officers. 2. A Governing Body Leadership was shown this year by those that worked on the Elementary Student Council. Elected officers plus homeroom representatives met twice a month to plan activities. Money was raised to sponsor a skating party. Dress-up days planned by the student council were also appreciated by the elementary students. For many, this was the first taste of work together as a governing body. Mr. Simon DeVries sponsored the group. f Y Q , 4 -- K fm- gt 'll an 1, W L Q E . , , ,vb- ' ...a -4- 'N t W .af-se-,- ,,,i.,M1 , - ' aw -is '- .Ink rv-.N ' ' '1ii6v4,g. v ,L-1.91.3 4' 1. 1-'..,-..gB-A 'Q, :V s ' , ' '0iGrr..f'i'- Q5-V.-413, :JS K 4U.ifr gr 1, X . 31 7 stu- - A f ttt- 7 it 4 .
