This was a day when the Juniors did anything from ironing to being a secretary. ln this way the class earned money for the Junior!Senior Banquet. They made approximately S800 towards their goal. 1. Westminster Academy was officially accredited on December 13, 1977, at the Annual Meeting in New Orleans of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Dr. Wackes was there to accept the accreditation. A school seeks accreditation voluntarily. Attaining accreditation status certifies that a school has met the policies and standards established by the Commissions of the Association. A school cannot be accredited unless they engage in rigorous self- evaluation and a continuing school improvement program. The self-study is a thorough, demanding and yet a valuable procedure which can improve any school. Evidence for the self-study procedure was gathered by testing, observations, self-analysis group discussion, opinion polls, and judgements from the visiting team. 80 Accepted! 1 i K. These reports were investigated by the twelve-member committee that visited W.A. in April of 2 1977.
