Board Of Directors Ano' Director Of Development The policy making body of Westminster Academy was the Board of Directors. These policies were carried out by Dr. Wackes. Meeting the first week of every month the Board of Directors had many responsibilities such as reviewing and approving the budget, interviewing prospective teachers, and approving building programs. Mr. Brown was Director of Development for Westminster Academy. Some of his plans for development included a one thousand seat gymnasium and the five new rooms we have enjoyed. Material donation solicited by Mr. Brown included a Nikon camera and a 17' boat. 1. Mr. James Fi. Brown: Director of Development: Indiana University, B.A. 2. W -'-G tt -N . .. K ,VJ . - fi. f.W...., . .f my Administration Dr. Wackes, Dr. Bergman, Mrs. Boyett and Mr.wMetzger made up the administration of Westminster Academy. Dr. Wackes has been Headmaster for five years. As Headmaster, Dr. Wackes carried out all policies decided by the Board of Directors. He also wrote the budget and oversaw all facets of the school. Dr. Wackes' open manner and sincere interest in the student made him popular with student and teacher alike. The Scrible, Text Flay, and the Lunch Box were just a few of Dr. Bergman's projects. He also enjoyed doing something that came naturally to him, clowning around with the Westminster Academy Clown Klub. Fans enjoyed their performances at football games. 5. Mr. Metzger was the Director of Guidance and had a really busy year. For the student who had questions about almost anything, Mr. Metzger was the man to see. He was especially helpful to Juniors and Seniors who needed information on colleges and careers. Mrs. Boyett was the Director of Instruction. lf you had ever wondered who had the hard job of scheduling all the classes, she was the one. Mrs. Boyett also oversaw curriculum and taught math analysis. She has been at Westminster Academy for four years and Director of Instruction three.

Left to Right: Mrs. Lucile Deacon: Assistant to the Director of Development, Mrs. Barbara Collier: Bookkeeper. Imagine Not Having A Staff Imagine not having a staff. Well I did. Phones would be left ringing, teachers wouldn't'know who was absent, accounts would be a complete mess, the school wouldn't be able to add more students without someone to register them. Dr. Wackes, Dr. Bergman, Mrs. Boyett and Mr. Metzger would be lost trying to find papers and keeping appointments straight. WHAT A MESS! Fortunately here at Westminster Academy, there is no such problem. The school has a staff of well qualified and competent people who keep everything running smoothly.
