Hickey, FRESHMAN BASEBALL Many freshman boys eagerly turned out this spring to try out for the baseball team which was coached by Mr. Clayton. The first of his many jobs was to choose the boys who would become the most successful, well-rounded players. Having satisfactorily completed this duty, Mr. Clayton and his newly formed team enthusias- tically started practicing and perfecting their baseball skills. Throughout the season the boys competed against numerous rivals such as East- wood, Carmel, and Noblesville. 7TH AND 8TH GRADE BASEBALL-Row 1: S. Smith, H. DeFord, S. Love, G. Linder, R. Lash, S. With Mr. Teboe as coach, the boys marched on towards victory. There were many things considered before this year's seventh and eighth grade players were chosen. The boys had to be capable of throwing, hitting, and running. XV e feel that Westlane has good cause to be proud of her Seventh and Eighth Grade Base- ball Team. A Fisk, K. Undercoffer.
