Bullseye-wrong target! Sl Ninth Grade Activities Bob Wente and Diana Roberts modeled summer clothes. The freshman year in high school was possibly the most challenging and difficult of them all. Students were required to turn in more assign- ments than they were accustomed, and weekend and holiday homework uquadrupledf' Neverthe- less, Westlane's freshman class handled these and other changes easily. During this year the popularity of social act- ivities increased enormously. Sports, particularly, gained importance among the interests of the freshmen boys, and any boy who won a certifi- cate or letter treasured it. The ninth grade Slfls found themselves more interested than ever 111 clothes, hairdos, and most important, boys. Many former UC and D students began to apply themselves more strenuously, for KWO reasons.
