Sponsored by Miss Doyle, the girls learned the elementary techniques of caring for others. FISHER BODY CRAFTSMEINVS GUILD The Fisher Body Craftsmen's Guild was organ- ized to bring talents in design, creativeness and originality to Wfestlane boys. Each boy strived to complete a finished model of his design suit- able to be judged by experts at Detroit. Valu- able scholarships awarded by Fisher Body added incentive to the project. The sponsor, Mr. Ufkes, gave suggestions and answered questions While the club members made sketches, finished plans, built a clay mock-up, or completed the finished Wooden model. MAGIC CLUB-Row 1: David Lawton, Neil Taslitz, Rick Huber, Miles Fishman, Fletch Boyd, Bob Short, Mark Caplan, Marty Cohen, Jay Davis. Row 2: Dan Goodman, Dan Guynn, jack Weber, David Coates, Gary Cowley, Bob Wohlstadter, Steve Cohen, Mr. Kubit, Mark Fox, Tom Monser, Chuck Larman, jay Schuff, Larry Sablosky, Greg Peirce. MAGIC CLUB Under Mr. Kubit's able supervision and guid- ance, the Magic Club became a considerable asset to Westlane. Initiation was held at the beginning of the year for the twenty-two members. At different times during the year this club success- fully performed for the school's student body. TWO such times were the all-school convocation H1161 the eighth grade dance. ' During the rest of the year some of the mem- bers attended a meeting in Columbus, Ohio, and the Indianapolis Jamborette to compete in a young magician's contest. The club, in itself, held different contests concerning basic magic methods and an auction of used magic supplies. Members were always busy as they worked continually to perfect new tricks.
