7th GRADE DRAMATICS Two of the most popular clubs at Westlane this year were the seventh and eighth grade dramatics clubs. Sponsored by Mrs. Gripe and Mrs. Bryan, these groups endeavored to learn more about acting techniques and dramatic eX- pression. Every club day the members scurried to their rooms, eager to begin another half-hour of thespian activities. Once this had been decided, all the club members diligently worked off stage and in the wings to perfect their one act plays. FGUR + ONE The 4 + 1 singing group of Wfestlane was formed last year, and because of their great popularity, Was continued this year. This very talented quintet consisted of Frank Bodwell, jared Bryan, Richard Fox, Scott Fritschle, and Danny Rohn, all ninth graders. They sang at the Christmas and Spring pro- grams and were asked to entertain at the Lincoln- Sheraton Hotel. Their specialty, which they have Peffected by continual work, is Barber Shop music. GIRLS srxrrr- , Bfgu GIRLS SEXTET The Girls Sextet, first of its kind at Westlane, consists of three altos and three sopranos. These girls have performed for various convocations in the school. In the early part of the year, club m?U?b9I'S, sponsored by Mrs. Thomas, wrote Oflglllal pantomimes in preparation for their i0m1Cal one act play, My Cousin From Sweden. The show must go on was the cry heard from not OUIY the seven actresses but also the seven- teen other members who worked in such capaci- UGS 21S.di1'CCtOrS, promptors, stage crew, make- up advisors, and scenery collaborators. SQUARE DANCE Do-si-do, a grand right and left, and swing your partnersi' were some of the common calls frequently heard by the members of the Square Dance Club. The members of this club, under the supervision of Mr. Owen, learned the fundamental calls and steps of square dancing.
