One of the most coveted awards, presidency of the student council, was earned by Jim Brom- ley. This accomplishment required both academic and social achievement. A position on the high honor roll or honor roll could be obtained without any extracur- ricular work. An average of 3.5 or above was required to make the high honor roll, and an average of 3.2 to 3.49 was needed to make the honor roll. This year a new plaque accented the trophy case. It was earned by the 1963 Hi-Lights staff for winning second place in the Scholastical Press Association competition of Columbia Uni- versity.
