For example, our classes were sprinkled with lighter moments. Shown here is one of Mrs. Haflichlg seventh grade English classes. During the 1963- 1964 school year this class, like many others at Westlane, participated in many debates, discus- sions, and panels, all of which stimulated the average Westlaner's interest in his mother tongue The eighth grade art classes were a welcome relief from formal learning and encouraged creativity among Westlane students. The new lan- guage labs for the freshman were both enjoyable and educational. Needless to say, everyone en- joyed his lunch period, where such weighty Sub- jects such as hairdos, clothes, sports, Beatles Qlj, and teachers were discussed.
